Today, we will be covering the new Pearl Valorant map and answering the questions what are the 6 maps in Valorant, and which map is the biggest in Valorant.
In Valorant Episode 5 Act 1, Pearl is a brand-new underwater map where players compete against one other inside the streets of an Atlantis-inspired citadel. Here’s everything you need to know about it, from its layout to the official release date. It’s been quite a while since a new map was added to Valorant’s ever-growing location pool, with the most recent being Fracture, which launched alongside Episode 3 Act 2 in September 2021.

In episode 5, Act 1, this is fixed; the game adds the Atlantis-inspired Pearl to the mix, allowing players to finally step foot on Omega Earth. Pearl is intended to separate the tough from the weak by forcing players into immediate conflict situations that test their mettle. When will it be published, and what exactly will it look like? Here’s everything you need to know about Pearl, Valorant’s newest map.
Pearl Valorant map release date
On June 22, 2022, Pearl will make her debut in Episode 5 Act 1. It will be accompanied by a new battle pass and an even more frightening Prologue to Chaos skin line.
Pearl Valorant map layout
Rather than being scattered around the map like in Destroy, Icebox, Breeze, and Fracture, Pearls is divided into three lanes that revert to a more traditional layout. “After Icebox, Breeze, and Fracture, we wanted to make a map that was a little more straightforward,” says Level Designer Joe Lansford.

“Pearl demands committed engagements, without the rotation and mobility support of doors, ascenders, or teleporters. What you get is something deceptively simple, strategically speaking. That said, it still has some twists and all the depth you’d expect from a Valorant map.”
In terms of story, Pearl is effectively a contemporary-day Atlantis. A formerly great city located in Portugal’s heartland, it has been submerged by mother nature as a result of climate change. Unlike its ancient counterpart, it continues to exist and becomes an ideal turf for our favorite heroes. Art Lead, David Yam said that:
“The inspiration for Pearl started from an older underwater theme pitch concept, which was combined with a newer pitch that revolved around a major city flooded from climate change,”
“Concepts were made exploring these two ideas and when we placed the location in Portugal, it got everyone really excited because of its historical and architectural visual potential.”
“Since Pearl takes place on ‘Omega Earth,’ we wanted to explore how Omega Kingdom would approach climate change and how we would convey this idea visually,”
“The idea of showing the sustainment of cities underwater seemed to be the right visual direction that everyone was excited about. It’s a nice visual juxtaposition of Kingdom Industries structures with older structures of Portugal.”
What are the 6 maps in Valorant?
The game’s six maps are referred to as Bind, Haven, Split, Ascent, Icebox, and Breeze. There’s also a shooting range where you can hone your accuracy or play simulations like defending a spike you planted. Each map has two ultimate orbs in neutral locations that teams may seek to gain.
Which map is the biggest in Valorant?
Breeze was introduced in Act 3 of Episode 2 at a tropical island location. It’s the game’s largest map, and it has some of Valorant’s biggest sites yet. There are vertical ropes and second floors, as well as the unique feature of one-way drop doors, which makes it different from other maps.
