Today, we are covering the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release date, trailer, and more, as well as answering the questions is FF7 rebirth coming to PC, and will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth be on PS4.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release date
On Thursday, Square Enix announced the next chapter of Final Fantasy 7 Remake during a live stream to commemorate the game’s 25th anniversary. The second part of the Final Fantasy 7 project is called Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and will be available for the PlayStation 5 “next winter,” according to Square Enix. That Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release date could imply a late 2023 or early 2024 release.
Square Enix also stated that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is part two of a trilogy planned by the producers. Some staff members have already begun work on the third game in the series. The name of the third FF7 Remake game was not revealed. Creative director Tetsuya Nomura said in a statement following the game’s announcement that:
“Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is being designed so that people can enjoy this game whether they know the original game or not,”
“In fact, new players might even enjoy starting their Final Fantasy VII journey with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Cloud and his friends embark on a new journey in this game, and I believe that the scenes that they witness after leaving Midgar will give players a fresh, new experience.”
Nomura explained that the development of Final Fantasy Rebirth is “progressing rapidly,” and that they are “working towards the completion of the series.” The game’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi, said that development on Rebirth “has already entered full production” and that the team is “developing it with all of the passion and dedication needed to create an original game and plan to deliver the ultimate gameplay and world-building experience.” Yoshinori Kitase, Final Fantasy 7 Remake series producer, said in a statement that:
“Three years may feel like a long time for all the fans who are eagerly awaiting the next game, but we want to offer the best experience possible and reassure everyone that development is proceeding at an astonishingly fast pace for such a large-scale HD title,”
“Making the middle part of a trilogy has its own challenges, but there are plenty of classic second installments in the world of film that are defined by stunning story twists and deeper explorations of their characters. Often these second installments become a favorite amongst the fans. In the same vein, we are aiming to make Final Fantasy VII Rebirth an even more gripping and memorable experience than Final Fantasy VII Remake, so please wait a little longer while we finish up.”
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth trailer
After the ending of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which stated that anything may happen in the next games, things have only gotten more intriguing. The video featured sequences fans will be familiar with, but there’s still a lot of potentials for things to differ from the original game.
In April 2020, nearly five years after it was first announced, on PlayStation 4, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released. The game’s extended Intergrade edition arrived in the following year on PS5. Following that, Square Enix brought the game to Windows PC via the Epic Games Store. On June 17th, a Steam version was made available.

Is FF7 Rebirth coming to PC?
Unfortunately, the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release date trailer’s last screen simply states that the game is coming to PS5. That implies there are no plans for a PC, PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch version of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth at this time.
Will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth be on PS4?
As we said, the trailer didn’t reveal any other platform aside from PlayStation 5, meaning it will not be available on PS4.
