After releasing the PS5 remake trailer, images were promptly shared comparing the graphics of the remaster to that of the original Last of Us. The Last of Us Remastered upgraded the original game to PlayStation 4 with additional features, but now The Last of Us remake on PS5, officially titled The Last of Us Part 1, is taking it to another level.
For the comparison shots, Naughty Dog utilized images of Ellie and Joel, the two main characters from the original Last of Us game. The new versions of Ellie and Joel are significantly more detailed and lifelike than their 2014 counterparts right away, with obvious changes in terms of visuals across all elements of The Last of Us on PS5. It should be exciting for fans to get their hands on the game later this year after seeing these visual improvements across all parts.
The Last of Us PS5 remaster will be released on September 2. The game is also in development for PC at this time. No release date has been set for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1, but we do know that it will launch after the PS5 version. Based on how Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection was handled on Steam, it’s likely that PC users will have to wait a few months before getting their hands on the game; however, nothing has been announced yet.
The Last of Us Firefly Edition
The Last of Us Part 1 comes with the original game and its prequel narrative, Left Behind, which was previously available as DLC. The Standard Edition costs $69.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99 and includes early access to the following in-game items:

The $99.99 Firefly Edition is the most expensive version of the game, which includes all of the same items as the Digital Deluxe Edition but with a special SteelBook case and The Last of Us: American Dreams comics #1-4 with new cover art. It’s presently out of stock in the Playstation Direct. Sony has not yet revealed any intentions to distribute this edition outside of the US.
At Summer Game Fest, some Last of Us-related information was revealed for the first time, including a glimpse at the PS5 version. It was also announced that a standalone Last of Us multiplayer game set in San Francisco will be released sometime next year, so fans of the series have to keep an eye out. Not only that but it was also revealed that Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker, who portray Ellie and Joel in the games, will have roles in the upcoming Last of Us TV series on HBO. More information about the TV show, including when it will premiere, should be available soon.
