What is Dalaran Hearthstone?
Dalaran Hearthstone is fantastic in Shadowlands since it allows you to get to Oribos quickly via Orgrimmar/Stormwind when your Hearthstone is on cooldown. WoWpedia describes the item as:
“Dalaran Hearthstone is a quest reward from In the Blink of an Eye. It functions as a secondary Hearthstone for the Legion Dalaran, leaving players the ability to bind their primary hearth wherever they please.”
It’s a quest item. There’s a quest and then a scenario for Legion stuff, in our opinion. Then, when you enter Dalaran, you’ll notice someone who has completed the scenario. The Dalaran Hearthstone is included as part of the prize.
An NPC will soon appear to guide you on your path to obtaining your first artifact weapon. Also, it’s nice to know that once you’ve gone through the process with a faction, it may be skipped on other alts in the same group.
We could not utilize the Azsuna portal directly on a Level 37 character, so we began by queuing for Chromie and using her Legion timeline, then completed the brief intro quest before quitting the Broken Shore scenario when we were ready.
“Since patch 7.0.3, it was possible to obtain this item simply by talking to Amisi in the Northrend Dalaran. This was probably due to a failure to differentiate the Wrath of the Lich King Amisi from her Legion version of the Dalaran located in the Broken Isles. It was corrected afterwards in an undocumented hotfix.”
In Legion, you’ll receive a unique Dalaran Hearthstone from the start of the game after seeing the cutscene that moves Dalaran to the Broken Isles. It’s called “In the Blink of an Eye” and it can be completed in Orgrimmar or Stormwind.
We haven’t tried playing the expansion out of sequence. The quest will become available to you as soon as you pick Legion from the Orgrimmar or Stormwind embassy NPC. Alternatively, you may acquire a run-of-the-mill Hearthstone at any one of Dalaran’s many inns.
How to get Dalaran Hearthstone?
Boosted Level 50 characters may take the portal to Azsuna and reach Dalaran directly, so chances are you won’t need to visit Chromie.
To get Dalaran Hearthstone, travel to either Stormwind or Warchief’s Command Board in Orgrimmar and pick up the Broken Shore option called “Fight The Legion” from the Hero’s Call Board or Warchief’s Command Board. This will give you the mission “The Legion Returns,” which you may complete to get Dalaran Hearthstone.
When you complete this quest, Recruiter Lee (Alliance) or Holgar Stormaxe (Horde) will offer you the option to avoid the introductory storyline to the Broken Shore. You’ll be instantly transported to Dalaran if you choose not to continue. Then you can get Dalaran Hearthstone by completing the last quest called In the Blink of an Eye.
Missing Dalaran Hearthstone
Before anything, check your bank. If you still can’t locate your Dalaran Hearthstone, go to the Legerdemain Lounge in Dalaran and speak with Amisi Azuregaze to obtain a replacement.
The Broken Isles may be accessed via your capital city’s portal room. You’ll need to depart from the Portal Room in Stormwind or Orgrimmar and arrive at Azsuna by way of the Azsuna flight point in Dalaran (which is also available from Highmaul).
You can obtain a Dalaran Hearthstone by completing “In the Blink of an Eye.” Innkeeper Amisi Azuregaze will provide you one if you didn’t get one.
In summary:
Take the portal from Orgrimmar/Stormwind to Aszuna, exit the building, and look up to your right. Dalaran will be floating in the sky (if your graphics are low, open your map and you can see where it is). Take to the skies with a flying mount. One of the shops in central Dalaran will be called “The Legerdemain Lounge.” Look for the innkeeper “Amisi Azuregaze” in the legerdemain room and she will have a text option that says something like “I appear to have misplaced my Dalaran Hearthstone.” If you click it, you’ll get your Dalaran Hearthstone!
