Gamers anticipating the long-awaited Overwatch 2 beta in two weeks were blown away by Gundam Evolution, Bandai Namco’s own hero shooter. As the Overwatch 2 beta approaches on April 26, fans have discovered something new to enjoy in the meantime, and it may be a major obstacle to Blizzard’s next game.
The first network test for Gundam Evolution, a hero-based shooter with a UI that is almost identical to Overwatch, took place on April 7 and gamers were favorably impressed. With a large number of Mobile Suits to select from, fantastic gameplay, and esports potential, players were thrilled with how great the game turned out and made their thoughts known on social media.
Gundam Evolution Overwatch comparisons are being made
Hero swapping, one of Overwatch’s major features, has been a staple of the game since launch, with players urged to swap characters to better deal with a specific matchup. For some people, this is a negative aspect and something Gundam Evolution has eliminated for the better.
Many gamers on Twitter were claiming that this new game is a way better shooter than Overwatch, with many saying that they found the faster pace of the game more enjoyable. Dustinn ‘Dogman’ Bowerman, a former Overwatch League player, also seemed to have a good time, uploading a video of him shooting a hype 360 quick scope snipe for the rest of the world to see.
