Today we are going to share a full list of Oscar Winners 2022 but the most interesting event of the night was the funny debate between Will Smith and Chris Rock.
The Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, were held on Sunday evening at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. “CODA,” a film that was previously considered an underdog, took home best picture at the 94th Academy Awards, becoming the first film distributed by a streaming service to be recognized by the Oscars.
After it played at the Sundance Film Festival in 2021, Apple TV+ bought “CODA” and released it on the streaming platform.
The most-awarded film of the night was “Dune,” which took home trophies in six categories, including cinematography and production design.
Jane Campion received the best director award for her rebellious western, “The Power of the Dog.” This was the first year that the Academy Awards ceremony featured two female winners in a row. It’s also significant for Oscars history: This year’s ceremony became the first time that both best director Oscars were awarded to women twice in a row.
The best actor award went to Will Smith (“King Richard”), the best actress award went to Jessica Chastain (“The Eyes of Tammy Faye”). Ariana DeBose (“West Side Story”) was awarded as the best supporting actress. The best supporting actor of the year was considered Troy Kotsur (“CODA”).
Will Smith punch Chris Rock at Oscar 2022
During the 2022 Oscars, Will Smith and Jay Pharaoh had an altercation. During the award for documentary feature presentation, Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head in “G.I. Jane”. Will Smith then punched Rock then returned to his seat and yelled at Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f** mouth!”
