The Central Bank of Russia denied that it was the target of a cyberattack, but Anonymous said it would publish 35,000 documents with secret information obtained by hacking the bank in the next 48 hours.
The Anonymous hacking group has struck the Russian Federation again, this time hacking its central bank and threatening to release thousands of confidential documents. The organization also continues to warn global businesses that have not pulled out of Russia that they must do so immediately, otherwise they will be hacked next.
Anonymous says it hacked Russian Central Bank
It has been one month since Russia started a “special operation” against Ukraine. Despite condemning Russia’s actions, NATO, the EU, and other nations avoided getting directly involved in the conflict.
Global enterprises, including behemoths like McDonald’s, Ikea, Shell, Goldman Sachs, Apple, Nike, Visa, Mastercard and PayPal as well as others have discontinued servicing Russian clients.
Anonymous is now involved in the fight against Russia. The group initially broke into approximately 30 Russian targets and scooped up around RUB 1 billion in cash. The organization later accepted bitcoin payments of $52,000 to every soldier who surrendered their tank.
On March 24, the hacker collective wrote on its Twitter feed that it had hacked Russia’s central bank and promised to release 35,000 documents with top-secret deals in the next two days.

Anonymous also threatens foreign companies
Despite the fact that the number of firms leaving Russia grows every day, many have yet to depart. As a result, the hacker collective has issued several warnings to these businesses, displaying their logos and stating that their time is running out.
We once again call on companies that continue to operate in Russia: Immediately stop your activity in Russia if you feel sorry for the innocent people who are being massacred violently in Ukraine. Your time is running out. We do not forgive. We do not forget. #Anonymous #OpRussia pic.twitter.com/acAoTe5QYZ
