Activision Blizzard published its Q4 and 2021 financial results and we’ve learned that the company is developing a new Warcraft mobile that will be released in 2022.
Activision Blizzard will launch a Warcraft game for mobile devices
The company states that:
“Blizzard is planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and getting all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time.”
The press release doesn’t provide any specific details about the upcoming game, the only thing we know for sure is that it is a Warcraft game and it will be released for mobile devices.
The announcement comes at a time when the company has issued its earnings report, which revealed that consumers spent more than $1 billion on Call of Duty Mobile in 2021 and Candy Crush’s dominance of the app store revenue leaderboards.
This Warcraft mobile announcement came as a surprise. Because Activision Blizzard has been developing Diablo Immortal since 2018, a new Diablo game we expect to be released in 2022 for mobile devices. One way or another, gamers will be pleased to hear that a new Warcraft-themed game is on its way.
