Beeing Hope Project’s main goal is to point out global warming. As a result of worldwide climate change, Turkey’s biodiversity is under threat like never before. Because of the global climate crisis, Turkey’s Mediterranean Region had a harsh summer in 2021.
According to the European Forest Fire Information System, between January and August 2021, 178 thousand hectares of forest were destroyed in Turkey due to fires. This is roughly the size of Istanbul, which is about 250 thousand football fields. It had an impact on not just forests with all species that live there, but also on local customs and economies.
Calabrian pine trees, which are one of the most destroyed species in fires, are at the center of pine honey production. As a result, apiculture in the region is on its way out and bees will not be able to survive this winter due to hunger and other diseases.
What is Beeing Hope Project?
A loss of biodiversity will certainly occur in the region. As a result, the Beeing Hope Project is being established with the support of Le Petit Marseillais Turkey and collaboration of National Geographic Turkey Magazine to help restore the bees and pine honey production.

The first step in the project is to raise public awareness. As a result, a dedicated art community has formed and produced an NFT collection to raise awareness about destruction. Turkey’s first multidisciplinary NFT collection includes 10,000+ works from 28 different artists from various disciplines of art.
