Saudi Arabia has established a metaverse program that enables users to virtually visit the Hajar al-Aswad stone on the Kaaba. Muslims can now experience the pilgrimage to this holy place in the metaverse thanks to a technology project called “Virtual Hacerülesved.” In this manner, the visit may be made possible in the virtual world.
Muslims will be able to virtually visit the Hajar al-Aswad stone thanks to metaverse
The project was launched last month by Abdurrahman Sudeysi, the Grand Imam of the Kaaba, was a collaborative effort between Umm al-Qura University and the Exhibitions and Museum Affairs Administration. According to Sudeysi, there is a lot of historical and Islamic heritage in the Meccan mosques, which should be digitized for everyone’s benefit.
The initiative also includes a virtual reality simulation of Mecca’s most prominent pilgrimage sites that people may visit from their homes using virtual reality goggles. It’s stated that the experience does not only appeal to the sense of sight and hearing, but also touch and smell.
