Instagram’s CEO, Adam Mosseri, says the platform is actively exploring how it can make NFTs more accessible to its growing user base. The first idea that comes to mind is, the platform could offer some posts as NFT collectibles.
Mosseri made a Q&A session in his Instagram stories and when asked about NFT projects told: “Nothing to announce yet but we are definitely actively exploring NFTs and how we can make them more accessible to a broader audience,” and “I think it is an interesting place that we can play and also a way to hopefully help creators,” he added.
Instagram was already working on NFT features
Earlier this year we’ve covered some leaks showing Instagram’s intentions to develop a feature in order to implement NFTs into the app.
According to the app developer Alessandro Paluzzi, Instagram is working on a new feature called “Collectibles” and he even shared some screenshots back in June:

Mosseri also announced the addition of new features last week, now it’s possible to embed Instagram profiles on third-party websites.
This new feature could be related to the so-called “Collectibles” feature. As you may already know, you can use NFTs as profile pictures on Twitter, Instagram might offer a similar option.
