The US Federal Trade Commission is now investigating Meta’s plan to acquire Supernatural, the popular VR fitness app, The Information reports. The antitrust regulator is probing Meta’s interest in scooping up VR startups, not just its social media acquisitions.

Meta is under antitrust investigation over the acquisition of the Supernatural VR fitness app

Meta (formerly Facebook) has acquired five virtual reality startups prior to Supernatural VR Fitness.  One of the most important examples would be the acquisition of Beat Games, the studio behind the highly successful virtual reality game, “Beat Saber.” But this acquisition wasn’t probed by the government due to the prices being too small.

The Supernatural VR fitness purchase cost over $400 million. That’s why the FTC is now looking into it.
