Xiaomi 12, the upcoming flagship smartphone of the company, will be the first device to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, that’s announced at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2021.
Xiaomi 12 series will utilize Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset
Lei Jun, Xiaomi CEO, himself confirmed that the new series will feature Snapdragon’s latest 5G chipset. According to Jun, Xiaomi 12 will be launched soon, even though there are no official release dates reported yet. The latest rumors indicate that the phone will be unveiled in December 2021.

Xiaomi 12 series are not the only devices to feature this brand new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform. Motorola also confirmed that a future Edge device, exclusive for China, will also utilize this 5G chipset.
