IGTV says goodbye and will now be renamed Instagram TV, this new space for videos up to 60 minutes long will improve the user experience when watching videos on Instagram.
Instagram says goodbye to IGTV: Welcome Instagram TV
Instagram has realized that this feature has not worked the way the company wanted and has decided to change the name. It is now known as Instagram TV and, although it works in the same way, it has some quite noticeable changes. In fact, the most striking thing is that the limitations of the IGTV format have disappeared.
Videos that are recorded and uploaded to Instagram can be up to 60 minutes long, plus they will not be separated from the main Instagram feed. This way, there will be no need to go to a specific section to watch them.
In fact, Instagram TV will combine both videos uploaded to IGTV and conventional and short videos uploaded to Instagram in the same section. Of course, Reels, being videos with a shorter format, will be kept separately.
The change made by Instagram is interesting in terms of content and user-friendliness. In fact, it was a logical step to take. It made little sense for videos on the platform to be divided into so many categories.
If you want to start using the new Instagram TV, just go to the Play Store or App Store and check if there is any pending update. In case there is any pending update you just have to until it reaches your device.
