Now, there are three options for adding an image to a group: take a photo, choose one from your gallery or the Internet, and search the Web for photos. However, this is set to change soon as the popular messaging software begins testing an icon designer.
According to WaBetainfo, WhatsApp wants to offer users a new way to customize the icons of the groups, and for this, it will soon allow us to create our own icons in a very simple way without having to select images from the gallery or from the Internet.
The WhatsApp group icon editor
Since a few days ago, the WhatsApp beta for iOS has had an icon editor for groups, which is now being built for Android and has already been discovered in the most recent beta, where we were able to view the first image.
Despite the fact that we already know the next version will utilize a completely different interface, it’s interesting to see how the editor will let us choose a background color and add an emoji or sticker as an icon in development.
In iOS beta, if the icon editor permits users to add an emoji or sticker to alter the group icons, it’s the same as before. The user will be able to utilize any emoji and a variety of stickers.
The version of the icon editor for Android groups is not yet available to any user as it is still in a very early stage of development, so we will still have to wait for future versions of WhatsApp Beta for Android to release this new feature.
