Google announced a series of updates for better integration of its apps in iOS 15.
New widgets and better integration of Google apps in iOS 15
Users on iOS 15 have already downloaded the new version to their phones, including some additional capabilities, and following closely on the heels of this news, Google has updated some of its apps to take advantage of the new features in iOS 15. Google is focusing on the new “Focus” mode, which will automatically update Gmail, Meet, Tasks, Maps, and other applications.
They will show critical messages, taking into account the app’s features and rules, but they will follow the suggested line to minimize distractions to the user in this new mode. On the other hand, there are also some new features in Google applications that take advantage of the new features of iPadOS 15.
For example, YouTube Music and Google Photos will feature larger widgets. From the Google Photos widget, users will be able to access the selection of photos that are combined in Memories, and from the YouTube Music widget, they will be able to view playlists and albums for easy access to their favorite songs.
Users can already upgrade to iPadOS 15 today, but the new widgets developed by Google will be accessible in a few weeks. But one new feature you will already find on your iPhone has to do with Spotlight search.
As is already the case with the Google Drive app on iOS, YouTube Music will also take advantage of this search dynamic. When you search for a song or a vocalist in Spotlight, it will display the option to play it right away on YouTube Music.
