Google One is adding a new storage plan for those who need more than 2TB, but don’t want to make the jump to 10TB. So if you want more space to store your Google Photos, you may find this new option is added by the Google team handy.
New Google One storage plan
While Google offers 15GB free for us to store our content, this space is spread across all services Gmail, Drive, and Google Photos. So it is not enough to store all the content we have in the cloud.
A problem that increased since Google Photos no longer has the option of unlimited free storage for certain types of photos. So if you want to continue using your Google Photos account to store photos you will have to opt for some of the Google One plans.
So far, Google Photos has two small plans of 100 and 200GB. After that, there’s a leap to 2 and 10TB. For individuals who require more than 2TB, it’s an excessively big jump in terms of storage and price; there is no middle ground between subscription plans.
One detail to note is that the 100GB, 200GB, and 2TB can be signed up for upfront, but the 10, 20, and 30TB are only available when upgrading from another membership. And now, as mentioned on Android Community, Google is adding a new 5TB storage plan at about $24.99 per month.
Those who choose to save their material on Google’s subscription plan may now explore this alternative. Of course, like the rest of the plans, this membership offers premium features such as Google Photos premium benefits, a VPN account, shared storage with family, and so on.
