A few months ago, Twitter mentioned that users could apply to access the new option offered by the platform to monetize Spaces.
And today it announced that it is already testing audio rooms with paid access. A test is being conducted with some hosts on iOS, but they hope to extend it to everyone soon.
Twitter Spaces are already starting to monetize with paid tickets
Ticketed Access Spaces is one of the initiatives launched by Twitter to allow creators to monetize their audio rooms. At the same time, it offers users the possibility to support their favorite creators or give back for the experience they offer with the dynamics of their Spaces.
Creators will be able to set the price of tickets to their Spaces, specify a limit for the number of tickets to be sold, among other details. And of course, they will be able to schedule the event by setting the day and time.
So creators can create workshop sessions, Q&A, interviews, dissertations, among other content, and apply this dynamic to charge for admission to these live audio rooms. Of course, not all the Spaces created are eligible, as they must meet a series of criteria.
One detail to keep in mind is that this Twitter option is still limited only to participants already in testing. And now it is taking a step further with this dynamic. As announced by the Twitter team, some hosts will now be able to create Access Spaces with tickets, and as part of this test, iOS users will be able to purchase these tickets to access audio rooms that have this option enabled.
The Twitter Help Center explains how this monetization option works and how users can apply to have this feature in their Spaces.
