Today we’ve learned that Facebook is testing Instagram’s Reels feature for the main app in the US to compete with TikTok. Facebook is no longer focused on Instagram only to become a platform similar to TikTok, but is also now testing the Reels feature of Instagram.
Facebook Reels was launched earlier this year in the test phase in Mexico, India and Canada, now the users from the United States will join the test.
Facebook Reels is coming to compete with TikTok
The social networking giant takes into account the interest of users in video content, especially in short videos.
Of course, Facebook Reels will have most of the tools that Instagram Reels have, except for some, such as Remix, which will remain exclusive, for the time being, to Instagram Reels.
Facebook will also be able to make slight modifications to the interface to maintain some differences between Facebook Reels and Instagram Reels, based on user feedback.
Interested parties will be able to create their Reels on Facebook both from their walls and within the groups where they participate, either through the Create button from the Reels section, from the Reels tab above their walls, among other places.
For Facebook, it seems that the possibility of cross-publishing was not enough. For now, Facebook Reels will not feature ads, but like Instagram Reels, Facebook hopes to bring ads in the future.
