It seems that Instagram has already filled all its sections with advertising. However, it still wants to go for more.
Instagram is testing a new advertising format that will reach the Shops section. So advertisers will have a new resource to reach their audience through Instagram.
Instagram is testing a new advertisement format in its app, Ads in Instagram Shop. Yes, ads that will focus on the Shops section.
This new initiative by Instagram to boost e-commerce will allow advertisers to include a carousel of images or simply individual images to promote their products. Of course, this dynamic will only apply to Instagram’s mobile app.
And just as with the rest of the advertising displayed on the app, the number of ads will be displayed based on user behavior. So Instagram will track the number of factors so that this advertising format gives advertisers the expected result. And on the other hand, not to affect too much the user experience by saturating it with ads.
So they will look for a way to balance the ads with the content shared by creators and advertisers in this section. For the moment, this new advertising format is being tested only with advertisers in the United States. For example, this stage includes advertisers such as Donny Davy, Fenty Beauty, Boo Oh, Away, JNJ Gifts, among others.
So Instagram is focusing on categories such as travel, home products, beauty, pets, among other relevant ones. So it is possible that it will repeat the same strategy when it extends this advertising format to other countries.
Instagram has not given details yet, so there is no specific date for Ads in Instagram Shop to be publicly available for advertisers in different markets.
