Facebook has taken advantage of the proximity of Emoji Day, which will be next July 17, to officially present the Soundmojis, sound emojis that will make more fun the conversations in which you participate, and that for the moment will land on Facebook Messenger.

And is that the social platform will offer a library of sound emojis that will allow the reproduction of sound clips such as crickets, applause, evil laughter, drum rolls, and more, and even audio clips belonging to artists, TV shows, and movies well known among the general public.

To access the sound emojis, from a conversation in Facebook Messenger you will have to tap the emoji button, then the speaker icon, and see the options available. Once the option is chosen, you can preview the sound linked to the chosen emoji before sending it to the conversation. And so on as many times as you want.

Note that Facebook is committed to expanding the library of sound emojis regularly, so it will be a matter of the Soundmojis library progressing over time, although we can assume that if it reaches a high level of them, they may also offer ways of searches and discovery. Still, in this regard, nothing has been said yet.

Facebook said, “We’re launching a full Soundmoji library for you to choose from, which we’ll be updating regularly with new sound effects and famous sound bites. Each sound is represented by an emoji, which keeps the visual emojis we all love in the play while bringing sound into the mix.”

Undoubtedly, it is a feature that will cause a lot of fun beyond the graphic expressiveness that emojis represent in communications, arriving for the moment to the messaging application mostly used in the United States, Facebook Messenger, although at the moment we do not know if Facebook has in mind to bring them also to WhatsApp, and more now that they have tightened the accelerator of the new features.

And the conventional emojis will continue to expand throughout this year with the arrival of new designs, which will be finally approved in mid-September, and there are already some candidates to be part of the new list of emojis that will come into force with the Emoji 14.0 version.
