A major update has just arrived at Telegram, with such interesting new features as group video calls or animated backgrounds for chats.
Telegram has received one of the biggest updates in recent months. The instant messaging application has finally released the group video calls that it had promised a few months ago, as well as other new features, including the new “animated wallpapers” for chats.
Many of the new features announced by Telegram are available both in the mobile version, as well as in Telegram Web and in the version for computers.
All the new features coming to Telegram
The most important new feature of the update is the arrival of group video calls. As specified by the company behind the app itself, this is an “extension” of Telegram’s voice chats, which now allows you to activate the video to make video calls with other people – up to 30, although the limit of members will soon increase.
An interesting feature of this function lies in the ability to share the screen with the other participants in the video call, or the option to activate the noise suppression system to prevent background sounds from creeping into our audio.
Telegram video calls are available both in the mobile version, as well as in Telegram Web and Telegram Desktop. In addition, in the case of Telegram Desktop, features such as selective screen sharing are included, so you can share only a specific desktop window, and since the video call window opens independently, it will be possible to continue chatting while participating in a group video call.
But video calls are not the only new feature coming to Telegram today. In addition to that, Telegram has introduced a new feature of animated wallpapers for chats.
These backgrounds add more dynamism to conversations, through algorithm-generated multicolor gradient effects that move every time a message is sent.
Telegram claims that these animations do not consume too much energy, and there is the possibility of creating your own animated backgrounds by choosing between three or four colors, and adding – if desired – a pattern of shapes to the wallpaper. Once created, they can be shared with others.
On the other hand, Telegram has added new animations to stickers and emojis, which now “jump” from the keyboard to the chat with a smooth movement. For iOS, in addition, semi-transparency has been added to some interface elements, and users are given the ability to change the app icon.
As if that were not enough, a menu with reminders of login information has been added, from which to suggest the user to keep their phone number associated with Telegram updated to avoid losing the account. On Android, however, this reminder will appear from the next update of the app.
To conclude, Telegram has added a bots menu that allows you to explore the commands available in each case, and use them more quickly. It also includes the ability to more easily import stickers to Telegram, and even more animated emojis have been added.
