The support for multiple devices at the same time in which they work from WhatsApp will not include the possibility of using it on more than one phone.
WhatsApp is the messaging application par excellence in some countries. It has long been known that the app is working on introducing multi-device support, something that was recently confirmed by Mark Zuckerberg. This feature would allow having the same session started on multiple devices at the same time.
New data on this multi-device support that WhatsApp is going to have comes now from the hand of WABetaInfo and will generate disappointment. The app will not allow using the same account on two phones at the same time, something that many users wished would happen.
WhatsApp multi-device support details
The multi-device support that is being worked on will allow using the same WhatsApp account on up to four devices, independent of the mobile, and also maintains encryption at all times. This would allow the user to have his session initiated on the smartphone, tablet, or laptop at the same time, in addition to not depending on the phone.
The beta in which this multi-device mode is introduced in the app will be available for testing in a couple of months. While waiting for it to be launched, we already have the first screenshot showing information about how multi-device support will be in the messaging app.
It will be possible to use WhatsApp on four additional devices independently of the phone. Once they have been linked, it will be possible to keep the phone without an Internet connection without any problem. The idea is that the session will remain logged in on the other devices. However, these other devices cannot be additional phones.
Bad news for those who wanted to have their WhatsApp account at the same time on two phones, such as an Android phone and an iPhone. This option will not be a possibility, at least for the moment, it may change in the future. In a couple of months, we will be able to test this beta with multi-device support.
