Since the project was announced, Cyberpunk 2077 promised to be one of the greatest games of recent times. Expectations were extremely high, as was the disappointment generated by its first release, which was loaded with bugs.
After being removed from the PlayStation store due to these errors in December last year, which in addition to the graphics also compromised the gameplay of this title, a new patch allowed it to return to this platform.
A new opportunity for Cyberpunk 2077
After six months away from Sony’s flagship console store, the game that put CD Projekt Red in the global gamer spotlight, Cyberpunk 2077 returned updated to be purchased through this platform.
The multiple errors that were detected after the launch of its PlayStation edition went viral at the time, accusing mainly graphic details, such as the erroneous or late display of some textures and even failures that compromised gameplay, such as the possibility of traversing objects. According to the reports known to date, this situation was concentrated in this console in particular, without appearing in the same way in the PC edition.
After this crisis broke out, the first purchasers of Cyberpunk 2077 were eligible for a refund, while its developers announced that they would work on correcting these errors.
The moment of this “fresh start” for the game arrived today, Monday, June 21, the date announced by CD Projekt Red for the relaunch of Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation Store.
According to what was announced by its creators earlier, the updates would concentrate on fixing critical bugs for last-generation consoles, being subsequently succeeded by other minor fixes.
The most recent corrections are aimed at the first-mentioned segment, as Sony already anticipated that it is recommended to play it on consoles such as PlayStation 4 Pro or PlayStation 5, which by hardware can grant a higher performance compared to the standard PlayStation 4 that, although it can still run this title, it will still experience certain errors.
We are facing a modern and ambitious title, which despite the problems it had at the beginning, by its nature demands powerful hardware to provide an acceptable gaming experience.
With this, comes a new opportunity for CD Projekt Red’s flagship project with PlayStation. Just as on PC and Xbox some substantial improvements have been evidenced with the updates released, now it will be possible to check on Sony’s console if the improvement there is also starting to get on track in a better way.
