Zoom, the platform specializing in video communications over the Internet for businesses, although the pandemic has also made it known among home users, is bringing a new round of new features.
Highlights include the arrival of new Vanishing Pen tools for the desktop, and Automatic Forms for mobile devices, both of which are targeted for use through the Zoom Meet annotation feature.
And on the other hand, the attendees to the meetings also have from now on the possibility to choose reaction emojis from a wide range of possibilities, according to account configurations.
Vanishing Pen is a tool that will allow, as its name indicates, to make ephemeral annotations on the screen, that is to say, all those annotations and drawings that are made on the screen will disappear after a few seconds. This feature is focused on desktop computers.
For mobile devices, there is the Automatic Shapes tool, which automatically converts manual strokes into lines, rectangles, and circles, making it possible to provide more orderly annotations during meetings.
Finally, as we say, the users will have more options of choice as emojis of reaction, including also the different variants of the skin color of a series of emojis, expanding beyond the six emojis by default that had until now.
However, Zoom points out that for larger accounts, administrators and owners will have to enable the complete set of emojis, otherwise, they will be left with only the six standard emojis.
Zoom also recalls that they already have a presence in Facebook’s Portal TV devices, which connect to any TV for videoconferencing, and adds as other new features that in Zoom chats, account owners and administrators can now add employees as administrators, reflecting in their profiles and that Zoom customers for cell phones can now enable the InformaCast feature to receive mass notifications to be alerted of any problems that may arise.
