Death Stranding for PC generated more than $27 million
Despite its original release date of 2019, the magnificent adventure of Death Stranding reached even more homes over the past year thanks to the availability of its computer version. Kojima Productions’ latest creation, as expected, was released to revolutionize the video game industry and, despite its mixed reception, there is no doubt that its philosophy will be studied for years to come by all sorts of developers across the medium.
That ambition, it should be noted, brought with it a remuneration that managed to transcend mere critical praise because, according to the latest financial report shared by Digital Bros, owners of 505 Games which is also the publisher of the PC version, the title was also a success in financial terms. Precisely, the report points out that, by December 31, 2020, Death Stranding had generated more than $27 million after its release in July, managing to surpass the economic performance of other video games under the company’s label such as Control and Ghostrunner.
Death Stranding is also available on PlayStation 4 -and has been for longer-, so the revenue generated by Sam Bridges’ journey is even greater. Still, it remains a remarkable milestone, which has surely paved the way excellently for Kojima Productions ahead of its next enigmatic project.
