Apple has just announced the celebration of the next developer conference. WWDC21 is booked to start next June 7 and will last, as usual, the whole week. In addition to the inaugural conference in which Apple will present the new operating systems, the event will feature a multitude of workshops to learn all about the software that gives life to our devices.
WWDC21 promises to be very, very interesting
Apple has announced that this year, as last year, WWDC will be held entirely in a virtual format. This means, on the plus side, that all of us who want to participate will be able to do so without the space constraints imposed by the San Jose convention center where the last few WWDCs have been held.
“We love bringing our developers together each year at WWDC to learn about our latest technologies and connect with Apple engineers,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations and Enterprise and Education Marketing. “We’re working to make WWDC21 our biggest and best edition to date, and we’re excited to offer Apple developers new tools to help them create apps that change the way we live, work and play.”

This WWDC21 will see the arrival of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15, watchOS 8, and macOS 12. All systems will bring new features to the Apple device ecosystem and surprises are indeed expected. Since software development happens inside the Apple Park offices, leaks are scarce. Even so, we expect a major overhaul of the Apple TV operating system.
At the same time, it is worth mentioning the arrival of macOS 12, whose official name is still unknown. This will be the second operating system that Apple launches after the presentation of the first Macs with Apple silicon. An operating system that may bring interesting new features in the way of interacting with iOS apps, for example.
From now until April 18, students can submit their Swift Playground to the Swift Student Challenge. Winners will receive exclusive WWDC21 apparel and a set of pins.
