Google Photos enhances its integration with Google Lens. After releasing its image gallery, the powerful search tool Google Lens continues to receive news and this time improving its integration into the Google Photos application.
Google Photos enhances its integration with Google Lens: New access to text tools
Since Google Lens arrived on our phones in 2017, its integration in Google Photos had not changed in these more than three years, until today. Google has integrated the Lens tools in the Google Photos menu.
Now, if an image contains text, the new “Search within this photo” section that integrates Google Lens tools will proactively appear. Until now, its integration in Google Photos was limited to displaying a shortcut to Lens from the image viewer.
This new feature appears when we open an image and slide up to open its information and options menu. There we can now directly access the tools to copy text, search, listen, translate or copy to a computer.
In images without text, this new Google Lens integration does not appear at the moment. The advantage of this integration is that it allows us to open Lens directly with the action we want to perform. For example, if we click on ‘Listen’, as soon as we open the image in Lens it will start to play the reading of its texts.
