Instagram also wants to have its own ‘Clubhouse’ integrated into the app and therefore the company is going to release audio rooms. The audio-centric social network is still quite popular and Facebook does not want to miss this opportunity, they are already working on a copy to compete against Clubhouse.
Details have been leaked about the integration of end-to-end encrypted audio rooms in Instagram’s own chats. At the moment there is no date for the arrival of this feature, but according to the leak Instagram is already testing its integration into the app’s interface.
Instagram will bring end-to-end encrypted audio rooms to compete against Clubhouse
Clubhouse, has been one of the phenomena in 2021, with overwhelming success. Facebook also wants to join this new fashion. They will integrate end-to-end encrypted voice chat rooms within its messages section. Alessandro Paluzzi, a researcher, has shared a screenshot showing how this feature will be integrated within the direct messages section.

Just as Twitter is trying to compete with Clubhouse, Instagram does not want to be left out and will do the same with its audio rooms. In the screenshots shared by Paluzzi, there are no details about how this feature will work, beyond the aforementioned microphone icon for audio rooms. Last month, in the announcement of Live Rooms, the company confirmed that it is “exploring more interactive tools, such as offering moderator controls and audio features that will be available in the coming months.”
