Qualcomm presented the Snapdragon Sound certification program which is a technology offering improvements in wireless audio performance. We are going to tell you all the details and how you can enjoy this technology.

The company known for processor manufacturing has now set out to solve the problem that arises in the union between devices and has created an unprecedented technology.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Sound will improve audio performance

With Snapdragon Sound, you can break down the barriers that existed until now around the sound that was linked via Bluetooth. When a smartphone is connected to a wireless headset, some information is lost along the way because the current Bluetooth bandwidth has a limit.

Benefits of this technology.

What is achieved with the new Qualcomm chips is to boost and increase that Bluetooth bandwidth to enable more fluid and true-to-life wireless audio with ultra-low latency (89 milliseconds), improved pairing, 24-bit audio quality and 96 kHz.

This technology optimizes resources to get the most out of music and deliver previously unrivaled quality.

In addition, Snapdragon Sound also features Qualcomm Aqstic DAC, which is a digital-to-analog signal converter. When listening to music via cable, the level of detail and information is much higher than through the basic Bluetooth connection, since no information is lost along the way, and there is no latency due to the connection between the two devices.

Qualcomm Aqstic DAC is specially focused on those who prefer to listen to music directly from the smartphone. The amazing thing is that the new Snapdragon Sound chip supports audio formats up to 384kHz 32-bit PCM and DSD with ultra-low THD+N.

Devices that support Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound technology

  • Current smartphones with the Qualcomm FastConnect 6900 System.
  • Smartphones with Snapdragon 8 Series processors.
  • Qualcomm QCC514x, QCC515x, and QCC3056 series Bluetooth audio SoCs.
  • Devices with Qualcomm Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) technology.
  • Devices with recent Qualcomm aptX Adaptive.
  • Qualcomm aptX super wideband voice.
  • Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec and WCD938x and WSA883x smart speaker amplifiers.
  • Qualcomm Audio and Voice Communication Suite.

At the moment the company has teamed up with Xiaomi to offer its technology in Snapdragon 888 and 8-series smartphones in general. Plus, the company has also reached an agreement with Audio Technica for future headphones compatible with this new technology.

You can already try this new audio quality from Amazon Music HD. They have created a playlist that is called Snapdragon Sound.
