Google prepares its foldable smartphone for 2021. There has been much speculation about Google’s development and the possible launch of a foldable phone. However, according to a well-known whistleblower named Jon Prosser in a tweet, it seems that this project is currently underway.

This would coincide with what was raised in a past report that gave an account of the efforts being made by Google to develop a foldable phone, a project that assigned the name Passport.
In this sense, the company already has an Android operating system designed to run on foldable smartphones with different folding patterns, such as the Samsung Galaxy Fold Z Fold 2 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip.
Within the claims made by Jon Prosser about the Google Pixel foldable phone, this one added that the same could be launched late this year or early next year.
Added to this, Prosser alludes to the internal documents of Android in which are detailed all models of Pixel phones that have been publicly released along with some unannounced where the Passport name that would refer to the folding phone that Google would supposedly be making is evident.
Already since 2019 rumors around the construction of a foldable phone by Google had been circulating. During this time Mario Queiroz Google executive had confirmed that the company was conducting tests with foldable screens. Also, Google had filed a patent showing a design that corresponded to the prototype of a foldable smartphone whose screen folded inward.
However, there is still no official information from Google to support the implementation of this project so we will have to wait until the company itself reveals whether all these statements are true or not.
