Samsung might say goodbye to the Note series with the Galaxy Z Fold3

Samsung might say goodbye to the Note series with the Galaxy Z Fold3. Galaxy Z Fold3 will be the next version of the most attractive folding smartphone on the market. South Korean media are anticipating a release in June 2021 and a new feature that would make a big difference to the manufacturer’s other smartphone lines.

Samsung’s first folding smartphone had serious problems with its hinge and screen strength, critical components in these types of mobile phones. The company (and many others) were able to overcome those issues with the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Samsung will be marketing the third generation soon.

  • Galaxy Z Fold3 might arrive with an under-screen camera
  • Galaxy Z Flip Lite will be Samsung’s most affordable foldable phone
  • Apple tests the prototypes of the foldable iPhone

According to some sources, one of the great features of the Galaxy Z Fold3 will be the support for optical pencils and a specific slot created to hold an S Pen. By all accounts, Samsung has been able to successfully add an under-glass digitizer created to protect the flexible screen and has also managed to ensure that this protector will not be scratched by the use of the pen.

Where will the Note series be? The Samsung Note was the first phablets on the market and have not yet been surpassed in that capacity. Leaving aside the Note 7 fiasco, the series is one of the most valued in the market with exclusive features as those that come from the support for the stylus.

Taking into account that it is rumored that the Galaxy S21 Ultra will also be compatible with a stylus (although it won’t have a dedicated slot and the S Pen will have to be purchased separately) some media reinforces the idea that Samsung is heading to eliminate the Note series from its catalog. It is difficult to say for sure, but if this feature, until now exclusive to the Note series, is transferred to other series, it will be a sign.

Samsung’s commitment to folding is unstoppable and the Fold and Flip series will continue to receive significant attention. If you want to clarify the catalog, you will keep the Z series for them, the S for the regular top-of-the-range, the A for the mid-range, and the M for the entry-level smartphones.

Otherwise, the information points out other new features for this Galaxy Z Fold3 like the front camera under the screen. They also say that the firm has been testing the retractable motorized cameras (like the one being developed by Xiaomi for its first folding).

The design won’t change much from the “book” type of the current version, with a large flexible AMOLED-O display inside, an additional external display, the reinforcements for the hinge, and ultra-thin glass, plenty of memory and storage, and a proprietary processor, Exynos 2100.

Samsung might say goodbye to the Note series with the Galaxy Z Fold3. The Galaxy Z Fold3 will be available in June 2021. There is no price information. But it will still be a very exclusive smartphone and it will be difficult for Samsung to lower its cost.
