Using WhatsApp under the influence of alcohol is not a very good idea, but today we are going to talk about what is WhatsApp drunk mode and how does it work.

WhatsApp is still very popular among people even though it changed its privacy policies. In the midst of all the controversy that ensued, a team of developers created a new feature that they call: Drunk mode.

What is the Whatsapp drunk mode?

The Chinese company Gree Electric was in charge of patenting such a system that is committed to preventing users from using apps under the influence of alcohol. Its use would not only be limited to the messaging service, but also to other applications such as Facebook or Instagram.

The ‘drunk mode’ would operate similarly to the ‘airplane mode’, which disables different functions of the devices. For now, it remains as a patent of Gree Electric, but undoubtedly this system would help to avoid situations that could be embarrassing for users.

When a user activates the ‘drunk mode’, it will limit the functions of WhatsApp and other apps of their choice for a set amount of time. When in operation, the system will simplify the interface to make it easier to tap the screen.

It should be clarified that this attractive system is in development stages and it is unknown if it will ever reach iOS and Android devices. However, applications such as WhatsApp have different tools to improve security.
