Some new features are coming to Google Docs, thanks to the new update, comments sent to you by your teammates will not be overlooked.
If Docs is the tool you use with your team to collaboratively edit documents, you will know that it can be complicated to filter relevant comments. To solve this, the Google team has added new options.
New features of Google Docs
Comments in the margin of the document are one of the great tools that Google Docs has for collaborative work. As the document is being edited, each of the team members can leave their impressions, suggestions or explain the corrections in the edition.
However, if there are many users participating in the editing process, it can be difficult to detect comments that are specifically addressed to us. So to simplify this aspect, Docs is adding a new filter.
You will be able to see all comments, those that have already been resolved, and those that are for you. This way, it will be really easy to use the filter to focus on those comments that involve us and that we want to address as quickly as possible.
Of course, we can then take a look at the rest of the comments to keep track of the group’s activity and feedback. And for this, an extra tool is added. This is a blue dot that will mark new activity in the comments since the last time we entered the document.
And if we pass the mouse pointer over it, we will see that this new tool will mark it as a new activity. Even though these are simple features, they will help us not to overlook information that may be relevant or a query from one of our colleagues that needs an urgent response.
And considering that we usually interact with more than one work team to edit documents, having these small aids can save us a lot of time.
