Microsoft has decided to work with Ingram Micro to develop Mixed Reality with HoloLens 2. In the world of technology, artificial intelligence, and therefore mixed reality has led to a conceptual revolution in all areas. There are many devices and solutions on the market but Ingram Micro has signed an important agreement for Microsoft HoloLens.
Microsoft and Ingram Micro will develop mixed reality with HoloLens 2 together
In addition, it is supported by Microsoft’s ecosystem -the largest of the sector at moment- and other partners. As if that were not enough, the Azure cloud is behind it, meaning that factors such as reliability, security, and scalability are fully guaranteed.
As we have already mentioned, Ingram Micro is making an important commitment to this technology and its services. In fact, this company is the exclusive distributor for EMEA, assuming the objective of developing and collaborating closely with partners to respond to queries about HoloLens according to the needs of the most specific customers.
At the head of this project is Oscar Gonzalez, Sr. Business Specialist of Ingram Micro and who leads the team for all product development and partners. In summary, we can consider that Ingram Micro is the face of Microsoft in front of customers from the point of view of the product, information, training, and after-sales. Four fundamental pillars in this development.
What is mixed reality?
Returning to the product itself, it is worth explaining that one of the strengths of Microsoft HoloLens 2 is mixed reality and this technology is a mixture of the physical and digital worlds, where augmented and virtual reality go hand in hand and are able to emulate digital or real situations. It is worth mentioning that this technology is used in sectors like automotive, health or aerospace.
The main applications offered by Microsoft for HoloLens 2 are Dynamics 365 Guides and Remote Assist. Thanks to it, Ingram Micro and Bravent, a consulting firm specializing in Microsoft technologies, have installed the HoloLens 2 solution in Gurutzpe. Gurutzpe is a company that designs and manufactures CNC horizontal lathes. It is a computational control of manufacturing tools.
Its customers include the aerospace, railroad, automotive, energy, oil and gas and steel industries.
