Xiaomi shows the first official image of the Redmi K40 in its ‘Black Edition’. The Xiaomi machinery never stops and rare is the month in which we do not welcome any model of one of its multiple brands. The turn now will be for a historical one, the Redmi born from its entrails and that prepares at least two launches within the high-end and premium high-end: The Redmi K40.
We always talk about two phones because so far two models of a range that, on the other hand, are official, have been leaked. The Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro have been leaving us some features over the weeks and now it has been Redmi itself that has unveiled images of how will be its rear, revealing features of its camera equipment and design.
The design of the Redmi K40 unveiled
In the image shown by the brand itself, one of the promotional posters of the next Xiaomi Redmi K40, you can see the model in black, which seems to correspond to the Redmi K40 Black Edition, perhaps a special version included in the line. On the back, you can also see that the phone bets on three sensors, and these cameras have also leaked some data.
Sources close to the brand speak that both the Redmi K40 and the Redmi K40 Pro would bet on triple rear cameras, the main one of the K40 being a 64MP one while the K40 Pro would arrive with 108MP on board. The two phones should arrive with Android 11 onboard hidden behind MIUI 12.5, although there is a possibility that they will arrive with MIUI 12 and the update to 12.5 guaranteed.
Features of their batteries are also known, although in neither case are they official. 4,520 mAh for both phones, both with 33W fast charging, by the way. As for brains, everything points to the Redmi K40 Pro would arrive with the Snapdragon 888 while the Redmi K40 could bet on a Snapdragon 700 series, or perhaps the recent Snapdragon 870, both from Qualcomm.
Both models will have 5G SA/NSA connectivity, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, stereo speakers, and 6.67-inch diagonal FullHD+ displays. We are talking about Super AMOLED manufactured by Samsung and with up to 120Hz refresh rate, with a front camera hole. The launch of the models is very close and it won’t be long before we know everything about them, although there are already hints that the Redmi K40 will start at 2,999 yuan, about $464 at the current exchange rate.
