Android Auto is being updated with some of the features announced last year, some Google Assistant routines will be back on the platform. The idea behind these new features is to give users more options to customize the dynamics of Android Auto to suit their needs.
So the next time you use this interface in your car you may find yourself with a number of new features.
Android Auto adds wallpapers and more options for Google Assistant
One of the new features is the integration of Google Assistant into Android Auto, and the ability to run routines from the car’s screen. Yes, you will now be able to run Assistant routines in your smart interface using some of the predefined actions. This was an option that was available some time ago but then disappeared.
And on the other hand, the possibility of changing the wallpaper is added. Although for the moment it is not possible to add your own images, you are given a series of options that cover different themes to choose an image as wallpaper.
The setting process is really simple since you just need to go to Android Auto Settings on the car screen, choose “Select wallpaper” and that’s it. Although there are not too many options, you have an interesting assortment to replace the boring screen.
These new features are already being implemented along with the latest version of the Android Auto app. So if you still don’t see any of the changes we mentioned, check if you have version 6.0.615334. If you didn’t get the update yet it should be available in the upcoming days.
