More than 120 smartphones will come equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888.

Qualcomm is one of the biggest semiconductor manufacturers in the world and they are betting heavily on 5G compatible devices, more than 120 smartphones are ready to launch with the latest processor of the company, Snapdragon 888.

Recently, Qualcomm China shared a new interview of its China Chairman Meng Parkon its WeChat account. The core topic of this interview is the 5G connection. During the interview, Mr. Meng revealed that more than 120 Snapdragon 888-based 5G smartphones will be released or are being designed at the moment.

4 nm technology is not likely to be released in the first half of this year, but Snapdragon 888 is manufactured with a 5nm process and it is by far one of the greatest chips provided with 5G support.

Qualcomm bets heavily on 5G technology

The Snapdragon 480 5G flagship is ready to be launched and it will be widespread on low-end smartphones. Last year, the trend between smartphone brands were offering a large catalog of devices for everyone.

In addition, with the launch of the Snapdragon 480 5G mobile platform earlier this year, Qualcomm has achieved full support for 5G technology across Snapdragon 8, 7, 6 and 4 series. Globally, more than 800 devices with Snapdragon 5G modems and RF systems have been released or are in development.

It is worth noting that on February 9, Qualcomm officially released a new generation of Snapdragon X65 5G modem and RF system. Snapdragon X65 baseband chip uses the industry’s most advanced 4 nm process to boost 5G rates up to 10Gbps, which is a leap forward.

Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 5G modem and RF system is the world’s first one to support 10Gbps speed and it also complies with the 3GPP Release 16.

Clearly, Qualcomm is moving forward with 5G development at a faster pace going into 2021. As Mumbai said, “In 2021, our goal is to continue to work with our partners to drive the further development of 5G and make more people and more industries benefit from 5G.”
