According to the latest statistics, 40% of the websites in the world is using WordPress, it is currently the world’s most popular web content management system (CMS), providing a large number of templates. 40 percent of the websites worldwide use WordPress as CMS
Although WordPress has a very large number of imitators, the ecology of the platform is already very large and dominates the scene. As of today, there are 58,000 plugins and 8,000 templates available on this platform. At the same time, many individuals and organizations rely on selling their own designed website templates on WordPress to gain revenue, but at present, WordPress’ own engine is still the most used and well-known.
According to those statistics, the results show that WordPress-powered sites have increased from 10 million in 2011 to 40 million today, with the platform accounting for 64.3% of the CMS market. The proportion of websites using WordPress in the blog category reached 92.2% worldwide, followed by the news category with 87.1%.
