Samsung did not want to end the first month of the year without first presenting a new phone intended for the entry-level range, Galaxy A02, and here is its specs, price and release date. This is the company’s fifth handset unveiled in January 2021, alongside the Galaxy S21 and S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra, and the Galaxy M02.
The Samsung Galaxy A02 is a phone that aims to conquer the most affordable segment of the market, based on humble but solvent features, and a price below 100 USD.
Samsung Galaxy A02 specs
The Galaxy A02 is one step above the Galaxy A01 presented months ago, although both models share a number of features.
It has a 6.5-inch display with TFT panel and Infinity-V format, with HD+ resolution and not too tight margins in terms of size.
Like most of the company’s phones in this category, the Galaxy A02 is made entirely of plastic and weighs 206 grams.
Under the hood, we find a quad-core processor at 1.5 GHz, equipped with 2 or 3GB RAM, and 32 or 64GB internal storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card.
Probably the most striking feature of all its technical specifications is the battery, with a capacity of 5,000mAh, it offers an excellent result considering the reduced screen resolution, and the inclusion of a processor that does not exactly stand out for its raw power. Unfortunately, there is no quick-charge support. It supports 7.75W charging through the microUSB port.
In terms of photography, the front camera is 5MP, and the dual camera on the back is 13MP + 2MP, the second being intended to capture macro shots.

The handset has been launched in Thailand initially, priced at around $99.99 at the exchange rate. For now, the company has not disclosed data regarding its global availability.
