The company is working on a new Apple TV that, according to the latest information, will be focused on gaming thanks to a new processor and new remote control.
It has not yet been determined what kind of processor Apple TV will use, but we are almost certain that it won’t be Apple M1. Apple TV has always been committed to the A series processors, the same ones that the company has used on iPhones and iPads. That said, it is most likely that this new Apple TV will come with an A13 Bionic chip, or perhaps an A14.
- Apple Car: The company is working on a car project that may arrive in 2024
- Apple will secure 80% of TSMC 5nm wafer production by 2021
- Mac Pro with Apple Silicon processors would be much smaller
An exact date has not yet been set, but the latest information shows that this new device will land sometime in 2021. This is a fairly wide time frame but considering the pace that Apple has been following, it is likely to be at the end of that year.
The next Apple TV will offer a better gaming experience with a controller
In addition to a major improvement in hardware, it is said that the next-generation Apple TV will come with a new remote control and will also include a specific controller for video gaming. We don’t know about the design yet, but if this is information is true it will be interesting to see the company’s ability to properly take care of the ergonomics of the controller.
The gaming experience won’t be at the level of the new generation consoles. But, the inclusion of the video game controller would be a good idea, since the customers will have everything necessary to enjoy Apple Arcade when they buy this new Apple TV, and it is rumored that this new device might also have a significant increase in the storage capacity.
We do not have any details about the next Apple TV’s price yet, but Apple has two options, to keep the price at $200 that we saw in the current 4K model, or raise it slightly to compensate for the inclusion of the video game controller and the improvements made at the hardware level.
