How to create a character in Cyberpunk 2077?
As a role-playing game, the creation of our character and how to distribute the charater’s basic skills in Cyberpunk 2077 is fundamental. Money is not the only thing that will give us influence and power in Night City. That’s why, we will bring you some concepts and tips so you can go safely when giving life to your V.
How do the attributes and benefits work?
The minimum you can have in the base tributes is 3 and the maximum is 6. But we can increase it as we go up the level in the game to level 20. The attributes are divided into 5 categories, and each of them includes different branches of skills:
- Constitution: Athletic abilities, ability with light weapons and shotguns, and fighting hand-to-hand without weapons.
- Intelligence: Defense protocol (against external hacking) and fast hacking.
- Temper: Stealth and critical hit probability.
- Technical skill: object construction and engineering.
- Reflexes: pistols, swords, and assault rifles.
The skill our character has with each type of weapon will depend on how much he has used that particular weapon. Also, as we level up we get improvements as rewards that, for example, reduce reload time. The advantage points that we collect can be distributed as you wish by the skill tree that you prefer. However, we must take into account that some of the skills we can unlock are linked to the level we have in the category (intelligence, for example), so our options will be limited until we reach level 20.
On the other hand, attributes are not only useful during fights, but they will also influence conversations. Certain dialogue options will be available if we have a sufficient level in the subject matter we are talking about. A good trick is to always have some point of advantage without spending so that we can apply it when we need it in the category in question from the pause menu.
The range of responses available to us will also be influenced by our history of origin. In fact, and without going into spoilers, it can even determine which characters you can have a romance with within our V.
Weapons crafted
Within the branch of technical skills, there is one called Edgerunner Craftsman that allows you to create legendary objects or improve any weapon in the game to legendary quality. However, you must have 18 points in this attribute to be able to unlock it. We will find legendary weapons in different parts of the map without unlocking this ability, but the same is not true for the iconic ones. This second category is made up of unique weapons, and due to their passive characteristics, we will be interested in improving their quality to legendary if we get attached to them.
As for the weapons, it’s also important to take into account that some will be limited to a certain level, so if we use them being a lower level their effectiveness will be considerably lower.
Examples of builds
If what you want is to be a master of the katana, you must distribute the attribute points in a concrete way that facilitates you to be able to approach the enemies. Therefore, we recommend you to put six points in the constitution, another six in reflexes, and four in technical ability since it will make your armor better every time you level up. Leaving the other two characteristics in three points each (as long as hacking is not your main goal), you would have a good base to play melee.
On the other hand, if you are interested in finishing your enemies from the shadows, what you need is a stealth vulture. In this case, you should put six points in temper, six in intelligence, and four in technical skills. However, if you are not interested in the mechanics of hacking, you can always put the six points in reflexes instead of intelligence, which will give you a good chance of being critical.
