Google Assistant comes to Samsung smart TVs. It was an open secret after being announced in several countries and finally, the company has confirmed it. The Google Assistant is already compatible with Samsung’s intelligent televisions, specifically in the models launched this year. With the arrival of this new assistant, the company makes its televisions compatible with the most powerful solutions on the market, such as Samsung’s Bixby, Amazon’s Alexa, and, finally, Google Assistant.

- How to use the timer on Google Assistant?
- Samsung will present new Galaxy Buds with Galaxy S21
This is what the manufacturer has announced. As of today, Google Assistant is available on all Samsung televisions from the latest series launched since the beginning of 2020.
Specifically, the new update is available for the 2020 QLED 4K and 8K series, Crystal UHD, The Frame, The Serif, The Sero, and The Terrace televisions. At the time of writing, Samsung has not announced the backward availability for 2019 TVs, so it is understood that the upgrade is limited to the company’s latest models.
As for the integration with Google’s assistant, Samsung has ensured that its televisions complement the functions of the television and the different connected devices in an integrated manner so we do not need to resort to our mobile phone too, for example, watch our favorite television channel, turn off the lights in the living room or consult the weather information for the next few days. Of course, the wizard is compatible with Tizen OS third-party applications. Spotify, Netflix, HBO, Google Photos, etc.
To use the wizard on your TV, the first thing you will need to do is reaching TV settings. Within the settings, click on General and then on Voice. If the television has the latest system update, we can choose between Google Assistant and the different voice assistants compatible with Samsung televisions.
Finally, the system will guide us through a configuration process in which we will have to dictate the different voice commands indicated in the Google Assistant interface.
