WhatsApp will stop working on some phones in 2021. As time passes, the applications adapt to new updates of operating systems and improve themselves. Therefore some old mobile phones which aren’t able to run new operating systems will not be able to run Whatsapp besides other apps. So it has already announced that some Android and iPhone devices will not support Whatsapp in 2021.

WhatsApp will stop working on some phones in 2021
One of the main problems of not being able to run WhatsApp on a smartphone is not only losing the ability to talk to your friends, but also losing access to a multitude of very useful tricks for using the application, either to prevent our internal memory from being filled up unexpectedly or to maintain our privacy as much as possible.
This list of mobiles will not leave any mark. The idea is to stop supporting especially old devices or those that have not been updated to the latest versions of the operating system.
WhatsApp will stop working on some phones in 2021. WhatsApp has announced this on its “Download and Installation” page, where they explain how the new WhatsApp compatibilities work. While they have not given specific models (something quite difficult, especially for Android) they tell us which operating systems we need at least.
iPhone
iPhone 4 and earlier models: They can no longer use WhatsApp, as they are not compatible with iOS 9.
iPhone 4S: We must upgrade to iOS 9 to use WhatsApp.
iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C: We must upgrade to iOS 9 and later to use WhatsApp.
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus: We must upgrade to iOS 9 and later to use WhatsApp.
So, if you have an iPhone 4 (or other earlier models), WhatsApp will stop working on your phone in 2021.
Android
WhatsApp will work on devices with Android 4.0.3 and further. Earlier models that aren’t able to run Android 4.0.3 will not be able to run Whatsapp also.
Others
WhatsApp does not forget about mobile devices with KaiOS, Google’s operating system designed for extremely basic phones. Only phones with KaiOS 2.5.1, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2 will be able to use WhatsApp.
WhatsApp will stop working on some phones in 2021. If you have a mobile phone with a compatible operating system, you do not need to worry. But if you do not meet the requirements of WhatsApp, you will have to either update your device if possible and otherwise change phones to continue using the app.
