Apple 8th gen 10.2-inch iPad specs
Apple introduced the eighth gen version of the standard iPad model at its online event. The tablet uses the A12 chipset that we recently saw on the 2019 iPad Air and iPad mini models.
A12 brings Neural Engine features to iPad
The A12 chip brings Apple’s “Neural Engine” processing capabilities to the entry-level iPad model for the first time. Apple says the new model’s keyboard cover will fit existing cases, including those made by Logitech. The new Apple iPad will work with the first generation Apple Pencil like the previous model.

The new iPad will also use the iPadOS 14 operating system and offer new features introduced for the upcoming software update, including Apple’s new Apple Pencil features such as manual text input.
Apple last introduced the 7th generation iPad model last fall. In this presentation, the 9.7-inch screen, which has been the basis of the company’s product range for years, has grown to a size of 10.2 inches. While the extra processing power on the new iPad seems like a welcomimg improvement, it seems that this product does not bring any major changes.

Pre-orders for the new eighth-generation iPad starts today, and the new tablet is aimed to reach consumers on September 17th. The device maintains the same price as the previous model, it will have a $329 price tag.
