The YouTube Shorts thing was just a rumor, but now it’s official. Google has already prepared its alternative to TikTok.
“Shorts is a new short-form video experience for creators and artists who want to shoot short, catchy videos using nothing but their mobile phones.” explains the company.

Shorts will not be available for everyone at start, but it will be in India in the next few days, Later it will spread throughout the world. Why India? Perhaps it is because India was one of the countries where TikTok was most successful, until the application was banned a few weeks ago. But it is just an assumption.
And there is not much more to tell, because what Google has announced is practically the same thing with Tiktok where you can shoot, edit and publish 15 seconds long videos. This feature will be added to the current Youtube app, so you won’t need to download another app to use Youtube Shorts. YouTube Shorts will come to Android first.
