Thanks to a leak we have been able to see the first real video of the iPhone 12, a new generation smartphone that Apple plans to present at the end of this year, specifically between the first and second week of October. We don’t have a definitive date yet, but most sources point in that direction.
In the video we find an iPhone 12 that works and in theory, it should be a pre-production sample or a prototype that fits into the phase prior to the start of mass production. This leak is not confirmed by any official source.

Regarding the design, we find a metal frame, probably steel, which follows the same pattern that we saw in the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s. As some of our readers will know, Apple has looked to the past for inspiration in some of its latest designs, and that framework has been precisely one of its most important “muses.” I do not speak without reason, remember that the iPad Pro adopted that same line.
We find, therefore, a frame and edges that Apple has rescued from the iPhone 5, but both on the front and on the back we have practically a tracing of the iPhone 11 Pro. On the front we see an all-screen finish that keeps the notch at the top, where the sensors that shape FaceID are integrated, as well as the call speaker. On the contrary, in the back we have a triple camera configuration that maintains the distribution that we have seen in the iPhone 11 Pro.

In general, the video has a high degree of credibility, in fact if you look at the back there are no references to the FCC, something that is normal in pre-production units. However, it does not have, as we said, official validity.
The iPhone 12 will be much more powerful than the iPhone 11
We know about Apple’s A14 SoC. 12 iPhone will feature a next generation SoC manufactured in the process of 5nm which will, in theory, an eight – core CPU and GPU high – performance Apple. That chip will be common to all versions of the iPhone 12, which means that they will not have differences in terms of raw power.
However, there will be other differences at the hardware level. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max will have IPS screens of 5.4 and 6.1 inches, will come equipped with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity and will have three rear cameras. For their part, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max will mount 5.8″ and 6.7” OLED screens, will have three or four rear cameras and will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage capacity.
It is rumored that the iPhone 12 will not be much more expensive than the iPhone 11, even despite the differences it will bring at the design and hardware level. This will be possible, in theory, thanks to the adjustments that Apple would have made internally, and the elimination of the charger and the headphones, which will no longer be included when buying the smartphone.
To finish, I leave you an estimate of the possible sale prices of the iPhone 12 in its four versions:
- 5.4″ : Starting at $699
- 6.1″ : Starting at $799
- 6.1″ : (OLED): Starting at $1,099
- 6.7″ : (OLED): Starting at $1,199
