Snapchat will allow users to add songs to snaps. The video and photo application continues to add improvements, now with much more interactive content, since it seems that Snapchat is testing new features, just like Instagram and TikTok, users will be able to add music to their recordings.

A Snapchat spokesperson says the company is working on new functionality for users to add music to their snaps or short videos, a feature that is very similar to TikTok or the option to add music to Instagram stories.

Snapchat aims to have more interactive videos like TikTok

In the best TikTok style, this new Snapchat feature would allow users to add music before or after their captures, a feature that, while not so novel, is still attractive in the application.

According to the Snapchat, the function will work with touches of preferences, when you slide your finger up on a video, you will get the title and the artist, as well as a link to listen to the songs on the streaming platform of your choice.

A company spokesperson said Snapchat was in talks with labels such as Warner Music Group and Universal Music Publishing Group, which will allow her access to its catalogs. He also added that this new feature is being implemented as a test in Australia and New Zealand.

We are constantly building on our relationships within the music industry, and making sure that the entire music ecosystem – artists, labels, songwriters, publishers, and streaming services – is seeing value in our partnerships.

The function alloows you to add songs to your snaps is expected to be in its stable version in the coming months, said the Snapchat spokesperson.

Is it possible to catch TikTok up?

This move could be strategic for Snapchat, at a time when they are contesting the future of TikTok in the United States, after the possible blockade by Donald Trump.

But that’s not all, as other rumors suggest that Instagram could also present its own version of TikTok shortly, and it is not for less, despite its demands for privacy violation, TikTok has become so popular that it is one of the most downloaded applications worldwide.
