Google One is free now with a 15GB storage option. One of the things that has changed the most in the field of home computing and the management of our data and files has been the place where we usually keep them. Until not long ago the only option was to have physical backups without removable hard drives and memory with USB ports.
For some time now, it is normal to also make backup copies in the cloud, and for that reason Google launched two years ago Google One, a spin-off from Google Drive that promised better file management.
The problem was that initially all the price plans for this new service were paid, and although some were not very expensive, all required a monthly subscription. Until now.
Google One launches a free option
Today Google has announced that it makes available to all users a new option within this service that will be free for Android and iOS users.
Obviously, this new variant is limited and simply serves to make backup copies of the information we have on our mobile.
It will serve to make backup copies of some files that we do not have to keep on our mobile taking up space. This can be very practical for those people who have devices with limited internal memory.

Now the free storage of Google only allowed us to store information from Gmail or Google Drive among other things, but it did not allow us to manage the information from the Android application of Google One or from its web interface.
Of course, it is not all good news, and is that the limitation of the paid version is 15GB data.
Three payment options
Today’s update Google One presents four versions depending on the hosting we need in the cloud.
- 15GB: free.
- 100GB: 1.99 USD per month.
- 200GB: 2.99 USD per month.
- 2TB: 9.99 USD per month.
This new function will be available on the Play Store in the coming days, but if you have had a Google One account you can see that, by default, the chosen account is 15GB, unless you chose another one. Meanwhile, you can manage your profile from the web.
