Good news for the Xiaomi Pocofone F1 owners, who will now be able to get Android 10. While we await news of the new Pocofone F2 , good old Pocofone F1, launched in 2018, is having Google’s latest Android update.
The update which allows MIUI to be upgraded to version 1.0.4.0QEJMIXM is based on Android 10 and includes the latest Android security patch from January 1. Note that the update file is a whopping 1.9 GB.
In the end of 2019, the publication of its Android 10 kernel source code showed that it wouldn’t take long time before the Pocofone F1 receives Android 10 build in MIUI 11 software. Since then Xiaomi moved all of other smartphones which had Snapdragon 845 chipset to Android 10. The phone didn’t receive a major update since November 2019 as well.
There are also a few small fixes to the notification shade, scrolling screenshots and Game Turbo feature on the phone with the Android 10 update.
If you have a Pocofone F1 and wonder how to update, you should receive a notification, or you can manually check the update. The new Android version will be distributed through the operators over the air, so you need to wait, if you haven’t received until now.
Pocophone F1 was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo in 2018, and this will be the second time it receives a major update, which is great, because most phones from that time gets only one major update and that’s it for them.
